This is my own invention. It is one of my studies in 3 dimensionalizing the tradition Metatron's Cube design. The evidence that this is a good representation of the 3D form (minus the connecting lines which make it a bit cluttered, though I have printed it this way), is that if you cut this in half along any of its 4 great circles, you would reveal the circles of the 2D Metatron's Cube within. The Dodecahedron and Icosahedron are technically called 'duals' of each other. As you can see here  when the vertexes of a dodecahedron are extended to 'stellate' it, it fits perfectly  inside its larger dual icosahedron. This process can be continued in both directions to infinity.
